Arkansas Judge Rejects Challenge to Medical Marijuana Ballot Initiative

AR Medical Marijuana Initiative

One of the two efforts to block a medical marijuana proposal from November’s ballot in Arkansas has been rejected. The Arkansas Supreme Court denied the challenge on September 22.

The opposition, Arkansans Against Legalized Marijuana, did not prove that the language written in the initiative is insufficient, according to ABC News.

An additional lawsuit is still pending in opposition of legalized medical marijuana in Arkansas. Also in consideration is a second case filed by Arkansans Against Legalized Marijuana that would disqualify another medical marijuana proposal.

In 2012, a medical marijuana measure in Arkansas narrowly failed.
