Arkansas Lawmakers Advance Bill to Destroy State’s New Medical Marijuana Law

Arkansas Marihuana

Smokable and edible forms of medical marijuana may soon be banned in Arkansas. The Senate Committee advanced the bill and if the legislation passes, medical marijuana in the state is doomed.

Efforts to stall the medical marijuana program until federal prohibition ends did fail, according to KY3.  Although edible and drinkable marijuana products would not be allowed, patients and caregivers would be able to use marijuana in food and drink items in their own homes.

The bills will undergo a full Senate review prior to moving forward. No word on further efforts to stall the implementation of Arkansas medical marijuana program regulations has been given. The lawmaker lobbying for the delay of the program failed due to “lack of a motion”, meaning it lacked the necessary support to move forward.
