The application period for medical marijuana dispensaries and cultivation facilities in Arkansas is now open. Applications may be submitted through September 18. The state is ahead of schedule as it was required to open the application process by July 1.

Blank applications with instructions are published and available for printing, according to Arkansas Matters. In the voter-approved amendment, the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission will oversee the awarding of licenses for approved businesses. Five cultivation facility licenses will be awarded along with 32 dispensary licenses.

Dr. Ronda Henry – Tillman of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission said, “The applications will cover a lot of subjects and will require a lot of information from the applicants. The goal is to have the best possible facilities here in Arkansas, and we’ve designed the applications to help us find the very best.”

When the application period closes on September 18, the commission is required to score the applications and award licenses accordingly.

Applications may be obtained on the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission website. Applications can be picked up from the Alcoholic Beverage Control Administration in Little Rock. An application can also be requested by emailing MMCAdmin@dfa.arkansas.gov.
