Arkansas Marijuana Entrepreneurs Seek Building at Auction

Dispensary

A group of Arkansas business leaders hope to obtain licensing to open a medical marijuana dispensary and cultivation facility. South Arkansas Cannabis Solutions is working on its application and have their eye on the old Therma-Flite building.

The building will be available at an auction this week and has been vacant for over a year, according to ArkLaTexhomepage.com. If approval is granted, up to 100 new jobs will open with starting salaries between $13 and $25 per hour. The business could be an economic booster for the area.

Matt Thomas, legal counsel for South Arkansas Cannabis Solutions, said, “There are lots of states around us such as Louisiana and Texas that have both passed the Medical Cannabis Act and don’t have any production actually in those states. Those statistics are that there will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 10,000 patients they expect in the first year.”

The application is due to be submitted for consideration by Monday, September 18.
