Texarkana Makes Regulations for Marijuana Dispensaries and Cultivators

Two regulations were passed by the Texarkana Board of Directors on July 16, making it the first city in the state to take any action regarding medical marijuana.

Business fees for medical marijuana cultivation facilities and dispensaries were set, according to KSLA 12 News. The first year fee for cultivators will be $50,000. The startup fee for dispensaries is $7,500. The annual renewal fee will be $11,000.

The proposal has taken months to complete. Zoning ordinances determining where dispensaries can be have also been approved. Dispensaries may be taking up residence in the city by year’s end.
